A Car Exhibition

NADA Auto shows 2009: the one and only automobile exhibition in Nepal has attracted 23000 visitors over the last four days. Visitors range from teenagers to people in their 60’s also. Diverse visitors have varied interest in the show .Teenage boys flock to the bikes section where as scooters attract girls. Some likes to exchange and some wants to have a brand new .In this exhibition ,one can book for new bike .
Working people and people in their 40’s and up to 60’s prefer cars. TATA is displaying vehicles in two categories –Private and passenger car. Tata safari 4x4, private car is the most expensive among Tata vehicles, costing Rs4.19 million while the new introduction, Tata mini truck, is cheapest –costing Rs 999000.Mazda 6 of 6 Mazda Motors is the highest priced vehicle in the show –Rs6.2 million .and cheapest one cost Rs3.7 million.Hyuindai’s new entry,i20, was another attraction in the light passenger car segment. Hyundai is displaying five models-Santro GL, Santro GLS, i10,i20 and Getz.Hyundai cars are available from Rs 1.43 million to Rs2.3 million , based on the particular model. Four model of Perodua brand private car are in the show ranging from Rs1.29 million to Rs2.0 million. The New Myvi is the highest in the price rank .Viva with 660cc engine is the best seller, it is the cheapest car and it gives 20km per litre in the city and cost Rs 1.29 million. Skoda’s Laura, Fabia and Octavia marketed by Morang Auto Works are in the expensive category .Laura ‘s price starts from Rs4.5 million and end at Rs5 million .
The most expensive bike in NADA Auto show is the Suzuki B-king – standing with an Rs 2.3 million price tag .It is the cynosure of all youngsters’ eyes. Electronic motor bikes have attracted lots of people but their sales is not as encouraging compared to other motorbikes .Yo- Bike with a 750 watt engine is available for Rs 99500.Electric bike is available in India for IRs28000, due to custom duty it is quite expensive otherwise it just cost Rs60000.The Chinese made Foton E-bike is also on display with a price tag of Rs59000.The company has provided a discount of Rs 3000 in its purchase in the NADA Auto show.

New Cars in Town

Toyota
Toyota Motor said today it was developing anti- dunk driving equipment that would lock the ignition of a vehicle if high levels of alcohol are detected in the driver.
The system features a hand –held breathalyzer, equipped with a digital camera, that detects alcohol consumption and photographs the driver’s face for identification, a company statement said .If the driver tests positive, the system either warns him or her or lock the vehicles ignition depending on the level of alcohol detected, Toyota said.
Toyota is conduction tests with affiliate truck maker Hinn Motors, and will install the equipment in selected trucks and other vehicles of fleet customers that include companies and government organizations. The device will alert fleet administrators if the driver is detected with excessive alcohol levels, it said. Nissan Motor is currently developing similar equipment .In the United States, certain states earlier this year passed legislation requiring drunk driving offenders to install breathalyzer ignition locks in their cars.

Hyundai i20
Laxmi international continental Pvt –the official partner for Hyundai in Nepal has launched Hyundai i20 in market. The “I “series car s are popular in the global automobile market as well, the company said.
It is efficient ,economic and available at a reasonable price .According to Laxmi international continental ,i20 is designed for the working people and the family as it is more comfortable .Its front headlight and bonnet are attractive and give the look of a luxurious car.

Kia Launched first HEV
Kia motors unveiled its first commercialized Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) ,the Fort Liquid Petroleum Injection (LPI) Hybrid , in Seoul.LPI is the newest addition to the Kia stable, which includes both gasoline –powered 4-door sedan and sporty coupe versions. Kia motors us$180 million over a period of 25 months to develop the eco-friendly forte LPI Hybrid .It has a fuel efficiency rating of 17.8 km per litre.
